We’ll walk on the ancient trail that connected Verbano highlands people to Switzerland, from Intra to S.Bartolomeo, walking through villages nestled on Lake Maggiore banks, rich in history and offering Mediterranean-like landscapes.

An historical path on easy tracks, that will bring us to visit ancient villages, where still vivid are evidence of a rural life, and the coastal villages of Cannero and Cannobbio, real gems of Lake Maggiore. An itinerary to walk slowly, enjoying landscapes and emotions emphaiszed by a nice coastal climate and by the presence of many, important historical monuments.
Program
1st stage – Departure from Intra embarking point at 9.00 AM, arrival in Cannero Riviera walking thorugh Sacro Monte di Ghiffa, Unesco World heritage.
Night in hotel with half board accommodation.
ELEVATION GAIN: 700 meters
DISTANCE: 17 Km
TIME: 6 hours approx.
2nd stage – From Cannero we’ll walk to Cannobbio and then to S.Bartolomeo. last village before the Suisse border.
Transfer back to Intra by public transport.
ELEVATION GAIN: 690 metri
DISTANCE: 14 Km
TIME: 5 hours approx.
